Hmmm, ok, where to start?  Well, the summary:

This is a chronicle of my attempt to start my own business, become an entrepreneur, live in other countries, travel the world, and forcibly change the course of my life.

It started last year when I read a book (The Four Hour Work Week) by this crazy young entrepreneur by the name of Tim Ferris.  I knew I didn’t like my job before reading the book, but what I read convinced me that I hated my job.  That’s ok.  I needed to hate my job.  It helped me quit.

But really, it started years ago, in college, when I thought I would enjoy owning my own business.

Nope.  Wait.  That’s not completely true either.  When I was very young I realized that I hated having other people tell me what to do.  I still hate it. Well, ok, that’s simplistic. I don’t hate having other people ask me to do things, or tell me to do something that makes sense to me. I really like being helpful, and love working as part of a team trying to accomplish something great. I’m just not great at following orders that seem counterproductive or nonproductive.

And I guess I have always wanted a type of freedom in my life – not freedom from responsibility, but the freedom of choice and self-determination, and the freedom to play and try new things to see if I can produce amazing results. I think I’m on a long-term journey of business creation and entrepreneurship.

So this blog is my way to chronicle the stress, joy, craziness, frustrations, frenetic bursts of creativity, and periods devoid of inspiration that are to be expected with this type of pursuit.

I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I am.

Cheers!
